Today's Word of Wonder: Resonance

The Scripture Spotlight for Today

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."— Matthew 18:20 (NIV)

The Devotion: Better Together

We’ve spent this week focusing on Being in Christ—learning that we are individual branches grafted into the Vine. But have you ever noticed that a vine doesn’t just have one branch? It has hundreds, all interconnected, all drawing from the same Source.

Sunday is the day we realize we aren't "abiding" alone.

When we gather for worship—whether in a cathedral, a house church, or a digital space—something powerful happens. Our individual "being" begins to Resonate with the "being" of others. The "WOW" moment of Sunday is realizing that the same Spirit resting in you is also resting in the person sitting three rows away or across the screen.

In Christ Jesus, we aren't just a collection of individuals trying to do better; we are a Body. When we worship together, we remind each other of the truths we might have forgotten during the week. We lean on each other's faith. Today, don't just "go to church." Go to be the "Body." Go to remind yourself that the Vine is big enough to hold us all.

Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)

As you prepare for worship today, think of one person in your community who might be struggling to "abide" right now.

  • Action: During worship, pray specifically for them. If you see them, offer a "Word of Wonder"—a simple, gracious encouragement.

  • Reflection: Notice how your own heart feels lighter when you focus on the connection of the "Body" rather than just your own walk.

  • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for the gift of community. As I gather with others today, let Your presence be tangible. Let our voices resonate together in praise, and remind us that we are never alone in the Vine. Amen."
