Today's Word of Wonder: Inquiry

The Scripture Spotlight for Today

"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings." — Proverbs 25:2 (NIV)

The Devotion: The Courage of Curiosity

In a garden, curiosity is what leads to discovery. It’s what makes a gardener look under a leaf to find a hidden fruit or study the soil to understand why a plant is thriving. Inquiry is the "Garden-Work" of the mind—the brave decision to stay a student of the Holy Spirit rather than an expert of your own opinion.

The WOW Moment today is realizing that God Loves Your Questions.

We often think that faith means "certainty," but often faith means "seeking." God isn't threatened by your questions; He invited the "glory of kings" to search out the matters He has hidden. Today, the miracle in the ordinary is the realization that the more you learn about the world, the more you learn about the Gardener. Curiosity is the antidote to spiritual boredom.

Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)

Today, practice The Wonder Walk.

  • Action: Go outside for 5 minutes (or even just look out a window). Find one thing—a leaf, a bird, a cloud—and ask yourself: "How did God think of that?" or "What is the Spirit teaching me through this?"

  • Shift: Notice how your heart feels more "vibrant" when you shift from "knowing" to "searching."

  • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for the mysteries of Your Kingdom. Give me the courage to stay curious and the humility to keep learning. Help me to find Your glory in the search. Amen."
