Today's Word of Wonder: Exultation

The Scripture Spotlight for Today

"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."— Psalm 126:3 (NIV)

The Devotion: The Purpose of the Cleaning

Why do we do "Heart-Work"? Why bother with the vulnerability, the decluttering, and the quiet? We don't clean a house just to have an empty house; we clean it so we can host a guest and enjoy the space.

The WOW Moment today is realizing that Celebration is the "finish line" of your spiritual rhythm.

In the Bible, the Sabbath wasn't just a day to nap; it was a day of Exultation. It was a day to look back at the week's creation and say, "It is good." When we are too busy "doing," we lose the ability to celebrate. We achieve a goal and immediately move the goalposts. But "Being" in Christ allows us to stop and savor the "Great Things."

Today, the miracle in the ordinary is your laughter. It’s the delicious meal. It’s the realization that despite the struggles of the week, the Lord has been faithful. Celebration is the spiritual discipline that reminds the heart that the battle is already won.

Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)

Today, do one thing purely for the joy of it.

  • Action: Throw a "Mini-Party" for yourself or your family. Use the "fancy" plates for lunch. Turn on your favorite upbeat worship song and dance in the kitchen. Buy yourself a $5 bouquet of flowers. Tell God: "Lord, I’m celebrating because You are good."

  • Shift: Notice how the remaining "clutter" in your heart seems to vanish when you prioritize Joy.

  • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for the 'Great Things' You have done this week. I choose to be filled with joy today. Thank You for my life, my breath, and Your presence. I celebrate You! Amen."
