Today's Word of Wonder: Fortitude
The Scripture Spotlight for Today
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'"— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
The Devotion: The Paradox of the Sands
In a lush garden, it’s easy to feel strong because everything is providing for you. But in the wilderness, you are stripped down to the essentials. You realize very quickly that your own Fortitude has a limit.
The WOW Moment today is realizing that your "Empty" is God’s "Opening."
We spend so much energy trying to be "strong enough" for our kids, our jobs, and our ministries. But God’s power doesn't "add" to our strength; it replaces it. When we are weak, we stop trying to be the "God" of our own lives. We stop the frantic "Doing" and start the humble "Being." Today, the miracle in the ordinary is the sudden surge of peace and energy that comes the moment you say, "Lord, I can't, but You can."
Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)
Today, practice "The Weakness Exchange."
- Action: Identify your "Breaking Point" today—that moment where you feel like you've reached your limit. Stop, exhale deeply, and say: "Lord, I trade my weakness for Your strength right now." * Shift: Notice how your perspective shifts from "how will I get through this?" to "how will HE get me through this?"
- Prayer: "Lord, thank You that I don't have to be strong today. I lean into Your sufficient grace. Let Your power be made perfect in my tired heart. Amen."
