Today's Word of Wonder: Intention
The Scripture Spotlight for Today
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." — Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
The Devotion: The Blueprint of Mercy
In architecture, a blueprint dictates everything from the load-bearing beams to the placement of the windows. Nothing is accidental. Every line serves a structural or aesthetic purpose. Intention is the realization that your life is subject to this same divine precision. God did not start building your character without knowing exactly how He was going to finish it.
The WOW Moment today is realizing that You are the Handiwork, Not the Architect.
The Greek word for handiwork used in Ephesians is poiema—where we get our word "poem." It means a work of art or a masterpiece. When we face setbacks or seasons of waiting, we tend to grab the pencil and try to redraw our own lines. But Mercy means the blueprint has already been signed by the Creator. Today, the miracle in the ordinary is the peace that comes from letting go of the layout and trusting the one holding the drafting tools.
Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)
Today, practice The Blueprint Pause.
- Action: Find a piece of paper today and draw a single, straight line across it. Let that line represent the path you thought your life would take. Now, draw a beautiful curve overlapping it. Remind yourself: "God's design is bigger and better than my straight line."
- Shift: Notice how the need to control your future diminishes when you accept that your days were prepared in advance.
- Prayer: "Lord, thank You for being the Master Architect of my soul. I confess that I sometimes panic when the construction site looks messy. Help me to trust Your blueprint of mercy today, knowing that I am Your masterpiece in progress. Amen."
