Today's Word of Wonder: Intimacy

The Scripture Spotlight for Today

"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

The Devotion: The Courage of Connection

In a garden, cross-pollination is essential for strength and variety. If a flower remains tightly closed to protect itself, it can never produce fruit or seeds for the next generation. Intimacy is the spiritual "opening up." It is the brave decision to let others see the real you—the growth, the struggles, and the "unfinished" parts of your garden.

The WOW Moment today is realizing that Fear is the Antagonist of Vibrancy.

Paul reminds Timothy that timidity (fear) doesn't come from God. Fear tells us to stay isolated; the Spirit tells us to move toward people in love. When we have the courage to be vulnerable, we create a space where others feel safe to do the same. Today, the miracle in the ordinary is the bridge built by a simple, "I'm struggling, could you pray for me?" or "I appreciate you."

Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)

Today, practice The Vulnerability Venture.

  • Action: In one conversation today, share something "real"—not just a surface-level "I'm fine." Tell someone about a lesson you're learning or a small victory you had this week.

  • Shift: Notice how your "spirit of power" increases when you stop hiding behind a "spirit of fear."

  • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for giving me a spirit of love and power. Give me the courage to be vulnerable today. Help me to connect deeply with the people You’ve placed in my life. Amen."
