Transformation is the "Wilderness-Work" of surrender. A heart of stone is rigid, defensive, and cold. A heart of flesh is responsive, tender, and alive. God uses the quiet, difficult moments of the desert to chip away at the stone until only the life-giving spirit remains. Today, the miracle in the ordinary is the realization that you are being "re-made." You aren't losing yourself; you are finding the version of yourself that God intended all along.

Today, practice "The Heart Exchange."

• Action: Place your hand over your heart. Close your eyes and identify one "stony" area (bitterness, pride, or fear). Exhale deeply and say: "Lord, I give You this stone." Inhale and say: "Lord, I receive Your heart of flesh."
  

• Shift: Notice how the "heaviness" of the stone is replaced by the "lightness" of His Spirit.

• Prayer: "Lord, thank You for the transformation that only happens in the quiet. Take my heart of stone today and give me a heart that beats for You. Remake me in this wilderness. Amen."
